(Jamie - April 2005)We hope you have all been well, and wanted to share some news with you. We’re moving to Australia! Well, for a little while at least. I’ve been offered an opportunity with Autodesk to relocate to Sydney for a few years to take a position that is very similar to what I’m doing now. The stars seem to be aligned, and this is the perfect time in our lives to do something crazy like move to another country. Angela will be leaving her job in August and is excited to spend more time at home with Annmarie while we’re living down under. For the next few months, I’ll be “commuting” to work, spending 2-3 weeks in July and 1-2 weeks in August in Sydney, before relocating full-time in early September. Until then, we’ll be turning our lives upside down, doing some spring cleaning and getting rid of all the junk we’ve accumulated over the last 8 years while living in San Francisco, and then trying to find some tenants to rent our place while we’re gone. So if you’re looking for a 2 bedroom place in the city for a few years…give me a call!
The most difficult part of all this will obviously be leaving all of you, our family and friends for so long. However, if you’ve ever had the itch to take a trip down under, now is the time to do so…please come and see us! We’ll be more than happy to accommodate you, and we’ll be looking to rent a house with an extra guest room in the hopes that we do have lots of visitors. Flights are surprisingly affordable during the off-peak season (non-Christmas), and we’re swell tour guides if you want to make the trip. Seriously, we’ll need lots of help putting shrimp on the barbie!
