Winter School Holidays

Annmarie was on winter school holidays for the first two weeks of July. We were all sick the first week and then managed to do some fun things the last week.

I snapped this cheeky pic on the last day of the term after school while they were outside having a snack.  They have food in their mouth. And oh their poor teeth, it's going to cost us.
Helping Dad clean up the back deck. In pajamas.
Birds
Ben's room seems to be the only room that gets direct sunlight, so we would hang out in there and soak it up. We were in there a lot that first week.
Two themes during the holidays; were loom bracelets and The Lego Movie. I found a simple way to make the bracelets online. Here it is. It's hard for Annmarie to have the bands on her fingers so we use two chop sticks. She can do this all on her own, thankfully because that loom thing was about to do my head in. Here she is showing Jamie and you can see the Lego coloring sheet done by Ben.
Poor Ben was hit with a ear infection, so there was lots of cuddles. Annmarie was feeling a little left out, so she joined in and and we took silly pictures while Ben slept.
Once we recovered we got out in search of sun.

Play dates and puppies.
We went to a movie. Ben's first! The cinema was running a school holiday special of some Tinkerbell movie. It was only 70 min so it worked out for Ben.
The Sunday before Annmarie went back to school we headed into Sydney to Darling Harbour to the Maritime Museum. There was a cool whale exhibit that we all enjoyed.
A chop chop (Helicopter).
A kid show about whales and the best part was when Jamie got plucked out of the audience.
After spending time in the museum, we had lunch and then took a tour of a submarine. It was very exciting for the kids. Ben didn't want to leave. I was a bit surprised Ben was allowed on, but he met the height requirement and went right down the ladder.

It was a very fun day and a wonderful way to end the school holidays.
