On the 2nd of December we headed up to Nelson Bay/Port Stephens for two nights. It's about 2 1/2 hours north of us. We stayed at the Oaks Pacific Blue because we heard they have a great swimming pool. And they do, it was just too bad the weather wasn't the best. The weather didn't stop Annmarie from swimming, but it was a bit too cold for Ben and me.
Most of the rooms there have access to the swimming pool right from your deck.Breakfast in the morning, very typical of how things go.
Dinner. More of the same.
On Tuesday we took a dolphin cruise.
Ben passed out.
Then Annmarie pretended she was asleep when she saw Ben sleeping. To be honest Annmarie was less than impressed with the dolphins, she ended up telling me after the cruise that she was afraid she would fall off the boat and that she should have worn a life jacket.
We did see lots of dolphins and it was a nice slow cruise around the bay.
Muma and her bub.
On the way out of Nelson Bay we stopped at a Micro brew/Winery and had a lovely pizza.
The ride home went great as both the kids slept. We won't talk about how Ben screamed most of the way up there.
Great little weekend place, heaps of stuff to do with kids and beautiful beaches. This was our first little car getaway - just the four of us and for the most part a huge success. As long as Ben has enough snacks he's typically fine.
